The image above has clickable areas corresponding to pages having higher resolution images from that area. Labels in white are mare names while black labels indicate craters and other features. Some craters such as Clavius are difficult to distinguish in this Full Moon image, they look much better with the terminator nearby

Waxing crescent Moon - 31 Jan 2001 First tries at making lunar mosaics with the webcam. Version 1 (complete, click on thumbnail to view): How: C5 at f/6,3 and Vesta Pro - mosaic of 6 single frames Version 2 (terminator only): Half resolution 628 x 1175 pixels - Full resolution 1250 x 2350 pixels How: C5 at f/10 and Vesta Pro - mosaic of 7 images, each image stack of 6-8 frames - wavelet filter in Registax Lunar data: 31 Jan 2001 at 18:04 and 17:20 UT (day 6 Moon) - Illumination 41,4% - colongitude 358° |

Waxing gibbous Moon - 02 May 2001 This mosaic partly succeeded despite clouds and poor seeing. However I missed a few parts of the disc ruining an attempt to make a complete image of the Moon. Reprocessed with Registax in Dec 2002 How: C8 at f/6 and Vesta Pro - mosaic of 6 images, each stacked from 6-8 frames - wavelet filter Lunar data: 02 May 2001 at 22:30 UT (day 9 Moon) - Illumination 74,6% - colongitude 29° |

Waxing gibbous Moon - 24 March 2002 This was an overly optimistic attempt to make a very large mosaic by working at f/10. But during the exposures a thickening cirrus cover made the exposures more and more dark and I initially gave up on processing the mosaic. In Dec 2002 it was eventually completed although it had to be reduced in scale to look fair How: C8 at f/10 and Vesta Pro - mosaic of 40 (!) images, each image stack of 3-5 frames - wavelet filtered Lunar data: 24 March 2002 at 20:20 UT (day 10 Moon) - Illumination 78,9% - colongitude 42° Half resolution 1400 x 1700 pixels |
